What the record does differently.

Versions from 2023 on. Each note says the behavior that changed. We do not publish a line that only says “fixes and improvements.”

A copied route keeps its notes, and only its notes

Shutdown week is not Tuesday. You can duplicate a route, add the extra stops, and write notes that would be wrong on a normal week. Those notes stay on the copy. Editing the copy does not edit the original, and editing the original does not leak into a copy you already made. Before 2.8, a note edited “just for this week” could show up on the regular route the next Tuesday.

A killed app no longer reports a photo it does not have

If the phone dies while a photo is moving from the camera into the record, Tidep used to show the record as saved and drop the file. 2.7 waits. The record is saved when the file is in the queue. If the app is killed first, you take the photo again, and the screen does not claim it is there.

Packs open on what is unfinished

A pack used to follow route order from the first page, which buried a failed check behind a run of passes. 2.6 sorts the front: open deficiencies, holds, failed checks, skips. Passed checks follow in route order. Nothing is removed. The first page is the unfinished part.

A hold needs a review date

“Later” is no longer a state. A hold saves only when it has an owner, a reason, and a review date. On that morning the item returns to the open list. Moving the date is allowed, and the move stays in the history. There is no automatic snooze.

The asset shows the last three readings

The latest reading, alone, looks like a fact. The two before it tell you whether today is new. 2.4 puts those three on the asset, in words or numbers as they were entered. It does not draw a chart.

2.3 · Jan 21, 2025

The queue is a count

A percent invited people to watch it. 2.3 shows a count of records still on the device. When the count is zero, nothing is waiting. There is still a control to send now, if you are somewhere with a signal and you want to see them leave.

2.2 · Sep 18, 2024

You cannot close someone else’s item

A close from the wrong login was a checkmark the floor had not earned. Since 2.2, an inspector cannot close another person’s deficiency. Supervisors can close, assign, hold, and reopen. A correction after sync is a new line, not a silent overwrite.

2.1 · May 7, 2024

CSV for a single route

The pack is still the reading copy. 2.1 adds a CSV of one route for the workbook you already keep: asset, check, reading, limit, result, person, time, and the deficiency id if one opened. Photos stay in the pack. There is no export of every route at once.

2.0 · Nov 9, 2023

Deficiencies are their own list

Before 2.0, a failure was only a line on that day’s record. The next day’s route did not show it unless someone remembered. 2.0 opens a deficiency from the failed check and keeps it, with an owner, until a close. The round can end. The item does not.

Photos attach to a check

Photos used to sit on the visit, which made two similar valves interchangeable. 1.6 attaches a photo to the check. You can still add one to the visit, and the pack will call it unlabeled rather than pretend it is evidence for a point.

1.4 · Mar 28, 2023

Routes can be copied

The first version of copy was only the stops. Notes came later, and they came with a bug we fixed in 2.8. 1.4 is when a shutdown week stopped meaning “edit Tuesday and hope you remember to change it back.”

The first offline queue

1.2 is the release that made Tidep fit a reservoir route. Load the route on the office network. Record without a signal. The queue holds the records until the device can send them. The count, the photo rule, and the conflict behavior came in later releases. This one is the queue itself.
