Product · Assets
Start with the assets the route already touches.
An asset in Tidep is not a model of the plant. It is a name the crew says out loud, a place, and the checks you repeat there.
The temptation is to import everything: every valve, every trap, every pole, on day one. Crews that do this stop using the register by week three. The names are wrong, the duplicates are embarrassing, and the route becomes a search box.
Riverward listed the valves on the Tuesday and Thursday routes. East Ward listed the substations they open every month, then the poles as the cycle reached them. St. Brice listed the steam traps one person had in a notebook, and only then the hoods.
Last three readings, not a chart
On the asset you see the last three readings for each check, the open deficiencies, and which route includes it. That is enough to know whether today’s number is new. It is not a historian’s view. If you need the year, export the route.
How to name an asset, and what not to put in the register yet, is in the asset doc and in the essay on registers.
